ClubSoft user Mediterra announced that their membership voted in 93% favor to approve an 8.9 million dollar clubhouse renovation. The $8.9 million price tag includes $3.2 million in replacement work and $5.7 million in new features to improve member enjoyment of the 12-year-old facility and to attract new members and homebuyers. ClubSoft partner McConnell Golf announced Tuesday that it plans to merge its two Greensboro clubs, Cardinal Golf & Country Club with Sedgefield Country Club. “The private club industry for a long time has wanted to take credit cards,” Ray McDonald, ClubSoft CEO stated. “But ticket items are fairly large … and clubs can’t pay the fee associated with those credit card transactions.” Many merchants still don’t take credit or debit cards, usually because of the cost. Plastiq who has recently partnered with ClubSoft in the private club industry to allow clubs to accept major credit cards for initiation fees, monthly member expenses, banquets, and more at not cost to the club, announced today that it has raised 6 million in funding. Plastiq had previously raised $2.3 million from Atlas and Flybridge in April, bringing its total raise to date to $8.35 million in outside funding.
